VPN.ht Review

VPN.ht doesn't seem to work anymore and there is no answer to support. It is therefore strongly advised not to subscribe to VPN.ht!

VPN.ht is a relatively unknown player in the market for VPN providers, but may be known by Popcorn Time users. This is mainly due to the fact that VPN.ht was created solely for the purpose of functioning as built-in VPN i Popcorn Time.

VPN.ht is no longer integrated with Popcorn Time, but can still be used and is quite excellent VPN service created for streaming, as among the encryption protocols it is possible to select 64-bit Blowfish encryption via OpenVPNwhich is the fastest on the market.

VPN.ht has a fairly limited server network that does not contain Danish servers and has due to the background as VPN for Popcorn Time only fairly scratched apps with few choices.

Servers and features

  • No longer working
  • Support does not respond

The security is top notch VPN.ht where you can choose between the encryption protocols OpenVPN, L2TP / IPsec and PPTP. In addition to the fast 64-bit Blowfish encryption, one can also choose the safer 128 and 256-bit AES encryption algorithms.

Security: 10 / 10

VPN.ht has home in the Central American country of Belize, where there is no legal requirement to log user data. In the terms of use on the company's website, one can also read that no logs are whatsoever carried over the users' use of the service. There is thus no possibility to see what the users have used VPN the connection to - In fact, one can not see at all that it has been used.

In addition, the website is encrypted with https, which in practice prevents unauthorized users from checking out the page.

Only small "but" is the lack of built-in protection against DNS leak, but then VPN.ht uses Google's DNS servers that do not log data, should in practice not be a problem.
